Knowing different aspects of Salafi sect, which have caused vast changes and predicaments not only in the Islamic countries but also in the whole world, matters a lot. Wheras "the peculiar misinterpretation of Salafi about monotheism" is the most significant problem that discriminates Takfiri Wahhabi Salafies from other Islamic sects, numerous books and essays have been written by scholars of various sects to criticize them. Citing documents acceptable to salafies, in this descriptive library research, we try to review those epistemological principles of Wahhabi Salafies which have conduced to such misunderstandings about monotheism. So, explaining religious cognizance methods of previous scholars – such as sense, heart, wisdom, Koran, tradition and consensus – we have criticized the viewpoints of outstanding Wahhabi leaders (Ibn Taymiyyah, Ibn Qayyim, Ibn abd al-Wahhab, etc.) about using these cognizance methods. Notwithstanding the postulation of Wahhabi Salafists that they follow "the Salaf" (=Muslims of the first three Islamic centuries), Ultimately we have concluded that not only their viewpoints are not according to the viewpoints of the Holy Prophet (Peace Be upon Him and His Descendants), his companions and followers, but also their extremist superficial misinterpretation of religion ends to polytheism or atheism. Furthermore they interpret contrary to the very religious epistemological principles which they themselves have assigned. So, this can be a sign of scattering thoughts and incoherence in their intellectual principles.
